Make mine a virgin, bartender

When I quit drinking I was on a quest to find any interesting beverage to have on hand to either treat myself with, or have on hand for when people dropped by with a bottle of wine or a 6-pack of beer and I wanted to drink something other than tea or water. I’m not a big pop drinker so not pepsi, etc.. In my search, I found these sparkling waters with some really unique flavours to them! I finally went on their website and noticed that they even have suggested food pairings. I took a look on their “mix” section and go excited when I saw the “sans alcohol” tab but when I clicked it and saw what looked like a large variety of virgin martini ideas, it was just their drinks poured into martini glasses hahahaha. They’re good though. I think I have tried all except for the cucumber because I can’t stand the taste or smell of cucumber.

One thing that I loved about the holiday season is the fun drinks, the drinking while socializing while everyone is in a festive spirit (and into the festive spirits harharhar) and also the whole sitting inside on a miserable day drinking spiked hot chocolate. I would be in heaven if there were non-alcoholic vodkas, irish creams and kahluas. (I’m going to be completely honest here – I bought the bailey’s non alcohol coffee creamer to put in my hot chocolate). I have found a few good recipes that I’m going to pick up the supplies for to have on hand – I can’t see anyone truly complaining if they come over for a visit and I make them a non-alcoholic bevvie! I won’t even tell them it’s a virgin, I’ll just tell them that I have a new drink recipe that I think they’ll like. Serve it in a fancy glass, accompany by some fun conversation, and don’t worry about them driving home after the visit. Sounds like a win-win to me 😀

Here’s some of the recipes I found if anyone is interested!

Crimson Christmas Punch

Pomegranate Sparkling Mocktail

Grinch Punch

There is a Baileys N/A creamer and I didn’t know about it?!? That’s going straight on my shopping list!! I read a while back about a N/A gin, but I’m not a big gin lover so it didn’t rock my boat much. A decent N/A mulled wine would be nice too.

Yes, it’s in grocery stores in along with the other refrigerated coffee creamers!
Hmm NA gin? WHAT – OK, I just searched online for that and it brought up a link to seedlipdrinks.com that are n/a spirits. Looks like they’re only available in England but they look pretty interesting.

I don’t think you are In the U.K. but I’m posting this article in case it helps! I think that crimson punch looks incredible. When you were writing about the Baileys and Kahlua, I had flashbacks to me ordering a shot of Irish Whiskey and a shot of Baileys with a tiny bit of coffee poured over it. It actually burned your throat when you drank it and made you look like a serious drinker when you ordered it.
Thank you for a healthier alternative this year. ; )

I needed to read this today. Thank you! This time of year for sure – feeling deprived! I wish they made a non-alcoholic IPA craft beer – that would be awesome! I’ll check out your recipes. Thanks again!

Holy shit! This post is a WELL SPRING of NA information.
I tried the Dry, someone told me about it (on my blog) and all I could find was fucking rhubarb. That was a year ago and it’s still in my fridge. So today I went to the Dry website (as instructed!) and one of the recipes was all “for the mom-to-be, so you can have a fancy drink too!” Thanks, Dry! The only reason everyone on the entire planet doesn’t drink if they’re pregnant.
ANYWAY, I love that ice cream punch. Also love root beer, and if you can get it find Crater Lake root beer….yaaaaasssss.

Lol I totally agree that their n/a recipes section sucks! Sorry! I was referring to the website more for food pairings and their different flavours.
I haven’t heard of that brand of root beer! I will have to start venturing out to different stores. When I was visiting the West Coast in October I picked up a bunch of different root beer brands and flavours – one was salted caramel brownie root beer which I haven’t seen since haha

Thank you! So many yummy sounding ones in there! I’m going to try the lavender lemonade and the coconut lime mint one (sans the cucumber it calls for) for sure!

Congrats on 35 days – woot woot!! I printed the Crimson recipe – now that looks yummy. And I’ve bought the bailieys cream before, forgot about it – will definitely get a bottle for the holidays. I love root beer. Just blows my mind how in my part of the world the big thing for the kids to drink now is alcoholic root beer. Friggin companies will play off anything to get the kids to drink. Shame. Anyway, well done on 35, keep going:] Big cyber hugs.

Thanks Audrey! That’s a very energetic sounding early morning post! 😉 ha, I had forgotten about the alcoholic root beer! I liked it but actually preferred the real root beer better! Thanks for the congrats 😊
